The Zone now carries eco-friendly bean bags!
The Bean Bag Zone joins other eco-friendly retailers in offering products made with recycled and organic components - we now carry Earth-friendly bean bags! We have picked up a line of beanbags called EcoSak, and we are carrying both their adult bean bag chairs and their kid’s bean bags. The adult bean bags are made with post-manufacturer recycled furniture grade foam. This means the filling for your bean bag will come from first quality foam that is excess after furniture production…scraps, ends, odd-sized pieces all get shredded together and reused in these bean bags, rather than heading to the landfill. We think that is pretty great. And the covers come in a choice of soft organic cotton or eco-suede, a durable recycled soda bottle fabric that has a suede feel. The Original EcoSak has the eco-suede cover, and the Hybrid has the organic cotton cover.
EcoSak offers two choices for the children’s bean bags: the Buckaroo and the EcoSak Junior. The EcoSak Jr is a mini version of the Hybrid, and is a kid’s bean bag suitable for ages 3 and up. For the smaller kiddos, the Buckaroo is a totally natural option, filled with dried buckwheat hulls and covered in organic cotton. No foam, no chemicals. The buckwheat hulls weigh quite a lot so unfortunately, they aren’t able to use them in their adult bags, but they are really perfect for the little ones up to about 4 or 5 years old.
We like these products a lot, and we think you will too. EcoSak gives 1% of their proceeds to environmental organizations through 1% for the Planet, which is also pretty cool. Furniture production of any kind is highly consumptive, and it’s nice to see a company taking the steps toward a smaller environmental impact. Give EcoSak a try!
